While I won't venture as far as you in deciding the reason an author choses a certain category, my best guess is that the idea of a counter-strike movie is just kind of funny in-and-of it's self.

I can't see how the movie could be true to the game. A movie where the actors repeatedly fight against terrorists in the same place for 30 minutes isn't likely to be a blockbuster hit. On that note, I am really interested. I'd like to see real-life renditions of some of the popular maps in CounterStrike. Although, for some reason, I don't think they'll be using fy_pool_day or fy_iceworld :).

first of all: THE GAME HAS NO SPIRIT MORE THAN FOOTBALL or any other team vs. team sports.

second.. the game has no plot so most probably the movie wont have a plot either.

third.. I don't enjoy movies that much where you have to shoot 8 bullets from a gun into a guy before he dies(from pistols).

My brother is visiting for the weekend, and has tried to convince me that he has first hand experience with MS Anti-Spyware removing IE... sure you do...

Many parts of the Matrix and other action movies didnt need a real plot. Think True Lies or Speed or Die Hard.

So what parts not a movie... some terrorists kidnap some scientists somewhere, they send a swat team and the action starts. Why do you need a longish story, since most of the audience will be hungry for nothing but action? The game is just about run and shoot, but movies have more flexibility, think of die hard again, when one terrorist remains, and draws an army of counter terrorists to an alley t

If Counterstrike gets made into a movie, it should be done right: as a machinima.

In my opinion, it shouldn't be done at all, the game has no plot, it's all action. What could possibly be done with it?
