The blog New World Notes, which chronicles events in the Online World Second Life, has several features up about the recent opening of a Peter-Pan themed Amusement park. Features include a review of the concept, an interview with the creators, and details on how the park was constructed. From the blog: "Neverland [is] a three-sim tribute to the world and wonders of J.M. Barrie, creator of the Peter Pan novels. Spellbound's efforts were assisted by Linden Lab, which loaned them use of three servers, for Neverland; some Lindens contributed their technical and creative assistance in the production, as well."

I didnt have time to log on as much, so I moved my account to the free monthly account. Which is nice, if I log in, I still have all the customizations and things I built. And if you log in once a week, you still get linden allowance.
Not sure how many other online servers that offer free service after you start. But you must pay if you want to own land, or belong to a group that owns land.
BTW, I havnt logged on in awhile, Guess I'll have to check out Never land when I get home. Hey, if Steam is down, might as well check it out also.

There's also a lot of scenery that adds to the ambience. Look for aligators and a treehouse. Even though it was simple, I enjoy sitting on a swing hung from a tree. There's room for two for lovers. And if you want a kiss, get a silver kiss and present it to others.
So what's not hot? The rollar coaster. It has the potential to be the best thing in the park, but when I tried it, the resources were not sufficient to support it. I don't know if it was my video card, the Linden servers, the programming, or the network lag, but it was slow (a SLOW rollar coaster?) and would stop at akward positions. You don't fall out, but it might be better if you did. SL uses a realistic physics engine from the same company that supports Half-Life 2, but clearly, the technology in SL can't support the fast-pacing of a FPS or modern video game.
