Max Payne 2 Previewed 31

The first previews of Max Payne 2 have hit the web. GameSpot has their first look up. Additionally, the good folks over at GameSpy have their take on it up as well. The folks at Remedy and Rockstar describe the sequel as a "film noir love story," and as previously mentioned, Max will have a love interest this time around.

Having read both previews, based on whats stated it seems implied that Max Payne will turn to the "dark side" in the sequel.

Over the course of the game's story, it will be revealed that Max will get framed once again, but he'll react much differently, considering that he's both tired of fighting the system, as well as his own loneliness.

This time he'll actually confess to doing the deed, in what we can only assume is part of one of those much deeper plot twists.

Here's how the post should read. If a love story is properly done, it can add a lot to a game. See Cowboy Bebop for a story that has love in it, as well as guns and crazy ultraviolence without making it hackneyed, trite, or crappy. It's understated, wonderful, and probably one of the more enjoyable experiences in a game.

Of course, it won't be to my liking unless the lover in question dies. But I'm a sucker for the angst and the drama and such.
