+ - Application centric open source speech recognition->

Submitted by bedahr
bedahr (1222520) writes "The new version 0.3.0 of the open source speech recognition simon has been released and introduces an application centric approach to speech recognition by using packaged use cases called "scenarios".

Scenarios contain the complete configuration for one specific task like controlling Firefox, using the voice controlled on screen keyboard or even arbitrary complex tasks using the included plugin framework. These scenarios can then be shared with other simon users and are collected in a central, community maintained online repository which can be accessed directly from within the application.

This way users can build their very own speech recognition system just using common building blocks — or create and share entirely new ones."
