+ - An Early Look at OS X 10.8 1

Submitted by adeelarshad82
adeelarshad82 (1482093) writes "Earlier today Apple announced their next OS, Mountain Lion. According to an early look, OS X 10.8 does more to integrate social networking and file-synching into a personal computer than any other OS. It tightly integrates with the whole Apple ecosystem that includes iOS devices and the free iCloud sharing service. Moreover Mountain Lion adds a powerful new line of defense against future threats where a malware app is prevented from running even if it is deliberately downloaded to a computer.Even though Apple's clearly got a lot of fine-tuning to do—and possibly a few features to add, but there's no doubt that Mountain Lion already looks very fine."

An Early Look at OS X 10.8

  • It doesn't really seem to have a lot of news. Just a few more social networks, some iCloud syncing and such stuff. Now with a Growl-like notification system built into the OS.

I'm a bit curious as the whether they've fixed what they broke in Lion, more specifically the idiocy of replacing Spaces and Exposé with the crippled "Mission Control" (which lacks a bunch of useful features of Exposé and Spaces).

The meat is rotten, but the booze is holding out. Computer translation of "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
