conner_bw writes "A $100-million anti-terrorist system was unable to detect a civilian trying to be seen. Casillo, a stranded jet skier, was charged with felony trespassing when trying to get help. His only alternative to walking directly into the airport would have been to walk for miles around JFK."

The linked story is about the plea by the jetskier. The actual incident was back in August.
