Halo Movie Awards 2004 10

Wolfy writes "The now resurrected Rockets on Prisoner, the Halo Movie Awards begun by Cobalt Nova last year, has begun! Voting will be done by the public, and awards will be hosted by That Weasel Television (with prizes supplied by Red vs Blue, Xbox Ottawa, and That Weasel). Read the rules to the contest and pick your favorite movies from the past year."

Slashdot article + no comments in 1 hour = nobody has any clue as to what these movie awards are. Heck, I even had time to RTFA!

Can I vote for the intro for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War? Most compelling short I've seen in 2004.

    • Someone used Halo to make animated shorts. Check these [redvsblue.com] out. Scroll down to the episodes, they're pretty damn funny.
    • I can't find any link to the 2003 results.

Don't know. May be I didn't look hard enough.

Even if it was 1/2 as interesting as Warhog jump, I'd download them all. Alas, I can't find anything aside from rants.

As it happens, The Economist recently ran an article addressing some of these issues. The article also provides context and perspective that should be of interest to those participating in this discussion. For convenience, the full text is reproduced below; it is also accessible online [economist.com] (may require paid subscription).

So here you go so you don't have to look for stuff. Most of the popular machinima films can be found on machinima.com [machinima.com], these awards are from the Halo community so the most popular films are at XboxOttawa [xboxottawa.ca], home to Fire Team Charlie Productions [xboxottawa.ca], the famous RedvsBlue [redvsblue.com], and ThatWeasel [thatweasel.tv]. Tonnes and tonnes of videos are up for prizes and awards, trick vids, tutorials or documentaries as well, browse through a major list of all halo videos here at Halo.Bungie.Org [bungie.org]. And in case you hadnt seen this awards show last yea
  • My general lack of interest in new Halo videos comes from the fact that original material is hard to come by. Red vs Blue was great when it came out, but I really have no desire to see half a dozen other series done the same way. In fact, I lost interest in Red vs Blue once the novelty wore off.
Every so often, something new does come by that catches my interest, but it's pretty rare now. The most recent Halo video that I enjoyed and actually saved to my hard disk was Legend 2. http://www2.mythica.org/halo/ [mythica.org]
