PC Gamer Podcast Launched 16

An anonymous reader writes "PC Gamer magazine has started up a weekly podcast show featuring editors discussing the week in PC gaming news and interviews with big-name guests. The first episode discusses the new Chinese government's restrictions on gaming, Battlefield 2's accessibility, and an interview with Gas Powered Games founder Chris Taylor. Taylor, of Total Annihilation and Dungeon Siege fame, talks about the newly-released Dungeon Siege II, the upcoming Uwe Boll movie based on the Dungeon Siege games, and the 'spiritual successor' to Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander."

...I hate the term "podcasting" and sincerly hope that it will not be sticking around.

Yeah. Podcast is one of the dumber made-up words I've heard of... it's completely pointless, too. It's like renaming driving a car "Hondatraveling" or something stupid like that.
    • I completely agree, call it what it damn well is. At most it's an audio weekly, it's a downloaded file. Sure the term would be valid if it was automagically beamed to your iPod regularly, whenever you were near an internet access point.

Until we have that, stop calling it this, kthx.
  • PC Gamer had "PC Gamer Radio" when Shoutcast was first released. It was basically the same thing, but it was a stream at a specific time each week rather than a download. The only difference is that now "podcasting" is the lastest craze rather than streaming audio. Ziff-Davis Publishing even had an entire website of ad-free streaming talk shows called Give Me Talk which is unsurprisingly gone.
  • using the term "podcast" which has NOTHING to do with casting, or ipods. thankyoucomeagain.
  • I'll be sticking with G.A.M.E.Radio [hwhq.com] thank you very much.
