Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Released 341

smithtuna33 writes "As of today there is a teaser up for Duke Nukem Forever at 3dRealms. It's up on Youtube as well, since the site is already slow. Not much actual game-play, but still ... might this game actually see the light of day after so much talk?" 1up, GameTrailers, and Voodoo Extreme have it too.

That trailer on YouTube was horrible!

    They're totally boned.

This isn't a trailer at all. Just a teaser.

Read the 3drealms website. It was an unfunded effort by a few employees to make something for the company Christmas party. Lighten up, Francis!

Sure the teaser may not be directed or cut too well but keep in mind all that (Duke lifting weights and the short in-game cuts) were rendered real-time in the DNF engine.

The voice actor is the same, Jon St. John. That's Duke's voice alright.

UPDATE: Here is an update that George Broussard made online this evening: Guys just to manage expectations... This is a teaser. It's not a full blown trailer like the 2001 trailer (but something like that is coming). I tried to be clear about that in the message board post, so just bear in mind that it's a teaser :) Enjoy.

Your disappointment stems directly from assuming this video is a trailer -- it's not. It's a TEASER, which is why it skimps on everything. There's just enough there to entice you and leave you wanting more... unless, of course, you were expecting a full trailer or demo. In that case, you're left limper than a wet noodle.

Oh, one more thing -- everything shown in the teaser IS in-game graphics. Duke, liztroops, octabrain, pigcop... all in-game. If you want a closer look, I suggest downloading the HD version of the teaser and scrolling through it at a slow pace.

    1. holoduke on a elevator, pipe bomb on elevator, you stay downstairs, press the elevator up to your opponent, he shoots holo, notice somethings wrong, step on elevator, you det the pipebomb while looking into the surveillance cams. Insta-fun!

    2. leave pipebomb in front of force field, step behind forcefield, activate field. Stand still and look at your opponent. He shoots, came to deactivate forcefield, you det the pipebomb. Insta-lolcopters.

    Sorry for the commas.

None of the games after Duke3D offer this kind of creative weapon usage.

Try the European release of The Witcher (if you're into story-oriented RPGs, that is); I believe you can order it online from European sites and it should work in the US just fine. It only has a few fully nude character models (namely the one used for various female vampires and the dryad model that is also used for the water nymph) and some artwork showing nudity, but in general it has been made without worrying about making it AO. It's also fairly bloody, but not exceptionally so for a modern game. The dialog is sometimes a bit awkward (due to translation), but hilarious.

The American release is censored to bring it down to M...by cutting down on nudity, I'm not sure if anything else is changed. Doesn't M imply that the age recommendation is 17 or something like that? Do Americans really think that means no boobies? Where I come from, full nudity (including soft porn) generally gets an age limit of 16, to get an 18 limit due to sexual content there needs to be spreading or erect penises.
