GTA IV DLC Announced 49
Rockstar Games recently announced upcoming downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV, entitled The Lost and Damned. It's due out on February 17th, and it focuses on a member of a Liberty City biker gang, rather than Niko Bellic. Joystiq has some early screenshots. "In the original game, Niko crossed paths with The Lost several times. This time, Niko has only a bit part, [Rockstar's Dan Houser] says. 'The story is not directly impacted by decisions you took in the main game,' he says. But 'tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of color to the main story.'"

Also money MS throws at Rockstar isn't really taken from the users, they're massively loss leading and the system itself is dropping in price, not going up. Besides, you can't pass fixed costs (like moneyhats) on to the customer because you'd make less money by raising the price (unless you're below the optuimum price already in which case, why didn't you raise it to the optimum price earlier?).

If you wanted the GTA4 DLC you should've got a 360, just as when the craving for MGS4 becomes too much I shall purchase a PS3.

That's an illogical statement. Microsoft effectively funded the creation of the content. This is no different to Sony using their large share in Square Enix to hold back the release of FFXIII on the 360. Square only changed their mind on this as the gap between the PS3 and 360 stopped shrinking (that gap is stuck at around 8mill atm, it was closing until Microsoft did their most recent price drop and is now widening again) and it became obvious the 360 sells that many more games (around 2 - 3 times as many

The thing is, I think a lot of people don't realise that for all the open ended gameplay for GTA the series has evolved over the years to being great single player storyline focused games.
Saints Row 1 and 2 are following the old GTA style of crazy gameplay with a loose story, whereas GTA4 was a fairly good story with brilliant presentation and a wonderful world.
I'm a complete and utter GTA fanboy, I loved GTA:SA and GTA4 and I purchased multiple copies (multiple systems) but I have absoloutely no desire for this DLC.
I personally find DLC just cheapens most games and makes them feel like a product rather than an experience, like a book or movie.
Would you pay for an extra 5 minutes of Star Wars (Lucas tried to offer it to us, again most of us hated it)
DLC has it's place but the only DLC for GTA I'd be interested in would be a full, complete expansion pack - ideally a new island and at least 20 or 30 SP missions plus some characters.
Frankyly I'd rather the dev time be spent on a GTA4 - II or a GTA 5 game.

I don't recall saying that at all.
I'd rather they simply didn't bother wasting 9 motnhs with the DLC.
