New Oddworld Games In Development 36
Game developer Just Add Water announced today that the Oddworld series, dormant since 2005, will be getting multiple new titles in the near future. Quoting:
"... for the past 12 months we have been working extremely closely with the fantastic people at Oddworld Inhabitants, from what started off as brief discussions in June 2009, to now working on multiple projects, across multiple platforms. Whilst we cannot go into specifics right now, we can tell you that over the coming weeks and months we will be announcing these exciting projects starring all of your favorite Oddworld characters."

I always found it ironic that the Oddworld games were about the little guy against the big corporations. With Much's Oddysee, Oddworld teamed up with Microsoft, then for Strangers Wrath Oddworld teamed up with EA.

It was mentioned before by the Oddworld Inhabitants team that if the re-released Abe games sold well there would be an Oddbox, with additionally Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath ported to Windows.
This sounds more like a reference to that, since there is no indication Squeek's Oddysee or other new Oddworld games are in development.

This would be awesome. Long ago I lost my copy of Munch's Oddysee for Xbox (and stopped playing the console) and would love to have Windows versions of those games.

Besides, they made three games (Abe's Exoddus was a bonus game) and from what I can tell the third is very different in gameplay and story. Not exactly incrementing the version number like many games series out there.

There's been spin-offs (Abe's Exodus) and maybe you can blame those of milking the franchise, but I don't think you can say that about the Oddworld series generally.
