Fervent writes "There is a hilarious parody over at CNET called Diablo meets the Sims. What happens when someone imports a Diablo skin into the quaint Sims universe? All hell breaks loose."

I found this damn funny. I like Harms's writing, have since he worked at PC Gamer, and I'm glad they pointed this out. So to everyone who thinks this wasn't funny - guess what... it was. But that's all subjective anyway. Get a sense of HUMOR. Just because it was worth a few quick clicks and a couple laughs and nothing more doesn't mean it's not good enough for Slashdot. Then again, I was drunk when I read it, so I may be totally off-base. But who really cares? Thanks to Slashdot for the link, and for making my day a bit more humorous. Some people should really lighten up and appreciate them doing the same for them as well.

I don't know if I even qualify for my own subject, but It's surprising that there aren't more witty comments about this hilarious little story.
Then again, it's probably not likely that most of you even play The Sims. Maybe wives and children are interested in it. I played it a bit, and it makes it funnier, the more you know about Sims.
My wife plays it quite a bit, and we thought it was hilarious.

Oooo! Oooo! What I'd like to see is this combined with the Doom System Administration Tool [slashdot.org] (where you can REALLY kill processes -- with a shotgun!). Never again while your routine system maintenance tasks be the same... will the httpd and sendmail demons devour the smaller user tasks? Can you find you keep PINE from running away with the system without shooting? Will find and grep get and stay together? What about the career of rcs?

It was hard to tell, some of the pictures seemed as if skins (or voxels, or gifs or whatever the hell The Sims uses) really had been modified - then again, I've never played the game. In any case, if this was really all done in paintshop, you'd think it'd have been classed as a humour article, or just thrown in as a quickie.

Spaces are not legal characters in URLs anyway; they should be escaped as %20.

When I replace the two spaces in the URL with %20%20, the link works. Shouldn't Slashdot be doing some checking of the text they put up? Can't GameCenter use a legal URL for their pages? The net's going to hell in a handbasket, I tell ya. :)
