Terminator 3 - War Of The Machines Rumored 12

Several online sources have rumored the development of an as-yet unannounced Terminator 3 FPS title for the PC, Terminator 3: War Of The Machines, to be published by Atari for Xmas 2003. Apparently, the title is currently in development at European Steel Of Haste developers Clever's, who have a teaser splash screen on their site seeming to back up the rumor. The game allegedly has heavy online components, and is completely different from the console Terminator 3 title from Black Ops, which is also scheduled to ship later this year. Update: 06/03 14:26 GMT by S : Thanks to boomtown.net for pointing out they sneaked a look at this low-profile title at E3.

man this is a gimme, i would shoot my dog in utter surprise if a marketing opportunity like this wasn't taken FULL advantage of. OF COURSE there is going to be a Terminator 3 game.

this isn't news until its happened, and even then, this is pure, predictable logic.
    • There's already a Terminator 3 game announced for consoles - I clearly state that in the post. This is a completely different game, and it's specifically for PC and online, and it hasn't been announced yet.

Seriously, please read the post before making sarcastic remarks.
      • oooooooooooooooookay...

but what your heighness doesn't understand is that it was a goddamn joke, not meant to be taken seriously. it was meant to make someone laugh. you know, comedy? ha ha?

        ah forget it.

Well I signed up for the Horizon's beta and since Atari is publishing it, they are handling the beta appps. I was sent an email that directed me to an Atari beta testing website where you filled in all the normal things on a beta application. In addition to Horizons you could sign up for other projects, one was T3: War of the Machines, and the other was Deer Hunter 3.
  • I thought Bethesda Softworks had some kind of deal with whoever owns the Terminator franchise. They seem to have their name on every Terminator game, and they've put out quite a few themselves. Anyone know how they're going to factor into a T3 game? I was wondering the other day so I'm interested that this came up.

I also heard that Atari is only a label these days, so what does "published by Atari" actually mean?

the machines from the Terminator to setup the Matrix, in the mother of all crossovers, which Hollywood has never really done before. Imagine, the machines not only go back in time to kill off John Connor, but after the war is over, setup the Matrix to enslave the people for all time.
  • Considering how crappy Enter the Matrix was put out by Atari. I will run from anything thats a movie tie in game from Atari.

  • Last August I spoke to a couple of senior Infogrames (now Atari) marketing managers who said that they were planning to release a Terminator 3 game on all platforms in conjunction with the movie premier (I guess the launch date slipped). They were pretty excited about it, even for marketing types.
