BlackAura on Dreamcast Emulation/Homebrew Scene 19

Wraggster writes "Over at DCEmu.co.uk, we have an interesting interview with the author of NxDoom, NxQuake (both excellent ports to the Sega Dreamcast) and also a Genesis/Megadrive emulator for the Dreamcast called Genesis Plus. Check out the interview with BlackAura."

I took an X-BOX with a folder full of warez (all the top titles) to my friends kid's birthday party

Do you know what they played all night? - SNES games !

Nothing beats 8bit for pick up and playability.

  • I loved the Dreamcast. I loved the controls, the games, everything. I still say it's more fun to play than the PS2.

There are still offical games coming for DC in Japan as well. Of course most are ports of Dating sims but they did get Capcom VS SNK 2 and also SVC Chaos
    • No SVC Chaos for DC (Score:1, Informative)

CvS2 yes, but not SVC Chaos. There are plenty of excellent shooters still trickling onto the market though, such as Border Down, Psyvariar 2, and the latest, Castle of Shikigami 2.
  • Perhaps I should get into something like that; the end result will probably be better than Datel's GameCube "retro" package (bad graphics != retro).
  • A system never truly dies, as long as there's initiative for fans/consumers to keep using it though the company behind it abandoned it years ago.

I could actually port sonic cd if I wanted to, I just wonder about the legality of it though...

The arcade version is nearly done, and the DC version is planned to be released at the end of the year. Japan-only , of course.

As long as we're going to reinvent the wheel again, we might as well try making it round this time. - Mike Dennison
