Great! I've been looking forward to these games. Let me just fire up my Xbox 360 so I can download them and try them out . . . Uh, wait.

  • Gabe's newspost [penny-arcade.com] at Penny-Arcade.com on Monday announced that they will have content available on Day One also. PA fan or not, it's a decent indicator of the sort of access Microsoft is giving those with the desire to put up their designs and whatnot for sale in the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

That said, PA is the only example I've heard of, so maybe they're just good at stroking a cock or two. There is lots of them hens and roosters at Microsoft I hear.

It is always amazing to see these companies put huge money into these consoles, and forget to have a couple of innovative titles to go along with it.

I think it may be the reason nintendo just keeps on going.. they always have a game that you just have to play when they launch a new box.
  • I'm kinda a bit dubious by the way it seems you have to pay to get different avatars, I was kinda hoping they'd be some kind of bonus for actually buying the game or something. I'm kinda worried they'll make you buy arbitary amounts of points even if you're using a debit / credit card and could easily purchase the exact amount needed.

Yes, you will be able to set it up to automatically take care of buying the points from your credit card when you go to spend them. Or you can lock out such a thing from happening to prevent, say, your kid from jus

      • That's right I thought the same thing, Microsoft is trying to emulate the cell-phone industry success, but with one catch, they apparently control the whole market and any third party goes trough then. That said I think the bit about selling arcade games and the bit of using point to level the different currency in the world are good ideas. But the avatars and themes seem to be rip offs and only work is it's impossible to create your own or import it from the PC
  • I think the era of on-demand gaming content started today. I hope Microsoft sees an opportunity here for more than just games, but all forms of high-definition content... http://spaces.msn.com/members/mthddirector/Blog/cn s!1pm2FutahJhLqUT0MvLjy_iA!272.entry [msn.com]
