LittleBigPlanet to Have Enemies 63
Media Molecule Producer Pete Wilson has revealed to EGM (as reported by 1up) that LittleBigPlanet's level can have bad guys. "It's funny -- I don't think we actually mentioned this previously, but yes, we will certainly have enemies in the game; I think that's a fundamental part of good gameplay," said Wilson. "They will range from little robots that simply roam from left to right to spectacularly complex beasts that pose quite a challenge." An awesome concept just got cooler.

Uh, you mean a handful of fanboys(notice the same people day after day) hang out on Slashdot and revel in the daily bit of Zonk FUD? Don't be a fool, there are now 120 million PS2s out there, 5 million PS3, and Sony is selling some 400k new PS2+PS3s every month just in the US alone. Slashdot is utterly irrelevant to the console market and console gamers.
Zonk has single handedly ruined Slashdot as a place anyone comes to get or discuss console news anymore.

Bullshit. I just finished "Ico", an early 2001 PS2 game, that was incredibly intense, and with the acception of a few pointlessly easy battles, had no bad guys. If anything, I could have done completely without the baddies, and the game would have been just as good. It's not a fundamental part of good gameplay, it's called "status quo". Obviously, every game, story, even piece of music, needs to have something that causes tension, but "bad guys" are only one of many options. In Ico, the antagonist was mainly gravity, the wall in front of you, and the frailty of the little girl you were leading around. Those were good enough. The baddies added a little in some areas, subtracted in others.
This line completely destroys any credibility this developer ever had in my mind. Good bye.

Right the user maps for warcraft 3 and all the mods for FPS's all crap. Counter strike.. crap. Doom TC's Crap. Team Fortress crap. Capture the flag in quake. Crap. DOTA, who plays that. Defence maps crap. Yeah user generated content is terrible.
User contend is what drives youtube, what drives most FPS's and even blizzard RTS's or never winter nights. There is a wealth of creative people who may not want to do it full time and thus they make things like Planescape clone from neverwinter nights.
