Amazon Ties Video Games Deeper Into Prime Subscription Program (bloomberg.com) 12
Amazon is making it easier for Prime subscribers to play games, the latest effort to extend the appeal of a loyalty program designed to keep shoppers engaged. From a report: The world's largest e-commerce company on Monday gave its more than 150 million Prime members access to free video-game content, eliminating a step that required them to link their Amazon account with one on Twitch, the company's live-streaming subsidiary. The service, once known as Prime Twitch, is now called Prime Gaming and offers special in-game perks and free downloadable PC games. Prime, which now costs $119 a year in the U.S., began as an unlimited free-shipping program designed to entice customers. Amazon has since tacked on a suite of digital perks, such as video streaming, music and photo storage. Members spend far more on the retail site than non-members, surveys show.

Doubtful. The games in question seem to be delivered through the Amazon Games app on Windows, not on iOS devices. Not sure if there's a version for Macs or not, but the games in question aren't generally all that great. I can say I got a few through Twitch before Amazon made coupling unnecessary, and I haven't played one of them.

Prime will end up being removed from the Apple store because make no mistake it is an advertising network and Amazon will jam more and more ads in their and the idiots will end up paying to watch advertisements again, advertisements you can not skip, locked into the feed, watch the ad or watch nothing and pay for the privileged and pay again when you buy a product and it will get worse and worse and worse. Amazon is still about 10 days on average for deliveries here.
I think this will be the first year since, gosh, 2011? that I'm not renewing Prime.
Games? A mediocre selection and jacking the price to $149 I presume?

The selection probably would have been pretty good 15+ years ago. Right now looks like mostly a bunch of old SNK games from the 90's and early 2000's, as well as stuff for other games, like League of Legends and GTA Online. Disappointing haul. At least the Epic games store (Santa take its black soul) gives out quality games.
It's also nothing new, they already gave all this stuff away to anyone with a Twitch account. Not news.

I'd take my business elsewhere too, if other businesses would ship with anything other than USPS or FedEx. Amazon uses UPS, which delivers on time most of the time.
