Google Stadia Arrives on iOS (techcrunch.com) 31
Google's cloud gaming service now supports the iPhone and iPad. As expected, the company is using a web app to access the service. From a report: Google also says that you need to update to iOS 14.3, the latest iOS update that was released earlier this week. If you want to try it out with a free or paid Stadia account, you can head over to stadia.google.com from your iOS device. Log in to your Google account, add a shortcut to your home screen and open the web app. After that, you can launch a game and start playing. Most games will require a gamepad, so you might want to pair a gamepad with your iPhone or iPad as well. Apple's iOS supports Xbox One and PlayStation 4 controllers using Bluetooth as well as controllers specifically designed for iOS. You can also play with the Stadia controller, but it's optional. If you just want to check your inventory quickly, Stadia on iOS also supports touch controls.

So Apple can trivially hobble Stadia any time they like
So what you are saying, is that Apple is so worried about Stadia, they would make browsing worse for everyone just to make Stadia worse, when Apple loses absolutely nothing by having Stadia work well and in fact might gain more users if people can use Stadia really well on an iPad...
If Apple was trying to make Stadia worse, it would require 14.2, not 14.3.

Apple would LOVE Stadia to work well on iOS, and in fact 14.3 probably includes some enhancements to help it work better. Otherwise why would it be required...
The reason Apple would do this, is because it helps sell Apple hardware. Why this is a hard fact to grasp when Apple is a hardware com

No payment processor anywhere will list, host, provide sales, marketing and user-review services, either. Nor will any payment processor provide a funnel to drive customers to your product. And if you believe that software should be free (as in beer) all of the above is also free. In perpetuity.

So why not do it as a native app? It's not the like the traffic is going through Apple's servers, it's a streaming service just like Netflix or Hulu or Disney or whatever else. The web app you can access from any device, at least if it's a native app it can have better native experience on Apple's hardware...or maybe there's nothing of value to leverage for Stadia.

I think most people are completely fine with Apple taking a cut of all sales in the App Store. The problem most people have is that Apple doesn't allow any other way for developers to distribute apps to iOS users. No side loading, no alternative app stores, only Apple's store. Of course, it's Apple's ecosystem and they have a right to run it however
