Xbox Cloud Gaming Now Supports Steam Deck Through Microsoft Edge (theverge.com) 12
Microsoft has released a beta version of Microsoft Edge for Valve's Steam Deck that includes full support for Xbox Cloud Gaming. The Verge reports: "We worked closely with Valve and the Xbox Cloud Gaming team to bring support for Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate through Microsoft Edge Beta for the Steam Deck," says Missy Quarry, a community manager for Microsoft Edge. "We're particularly excited about this ourselves as we feel it can open new opportunities in the Linux gaming community."
While a number of Xbox Game Studios titles are able to run natively on the Steam Deck, Xbox Game Pass isn't available on Steam, so subscribers will have to stream titles from Microsoft's service instead. The Linux version of Microsoft Edge now includes support for the Steam Deck controls and is available from the Discover Software Center part of SteamOS. Microsoft also has detailed instructions for creating a link to Xbox Cloud Gaming on the Steam Deck to make it easier to access in the future.

Microsoft doesn't really care about Windows anymore. They're integrating Linux support directly into the OS, they are moving their key applications like the Office Suite to the web so they are available on all platforms and they have been building native versions of them for macOS, iOS and Android.
Desktop Linux doesn't really have a user-base worth building a native application for and of course a good portion of them would rather just use LibreOffice than MS Office anyway so the web version is still availa

They care in that it's an ad delivery platform (consumer versions) and paid SaaS (enterprise versions).
In this case, it works as a delivery platform for another paid SaaS (game pass). In this case, it's even a platform for upselling people on this service, as you need the ultimate version for it to work.

We're talking about operating system, not office software or anything like that. Enterprise versions are rented, so yes they are.
