Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is Coming To Xbox Game Pass On Its Release Day (engadget.com) 15
An anonymous reader shares a report: Just before Microsoft closed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it said that it would take some time to bring the publisher's titles to Game Pass. We've only seen one such addition so far in the form of Diablo IV, but the company has announced another, somewhat notable one. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass on its release day later this year.
Microsoft is banking on the debut of a new Call of Duty title on its subscription service leading to a significant bump in the number of Game Pass members. It's a bit of a gamble, as for nearly every year in recent memory, the latest Call of Duty release has been the best-selling game. Microsoft is likely to see lower direct sales of Black Ops 6 on Xbox and PC, though it will still generate revenue from Game Pass and the PlayStation version (and perhaps even a Nintendo Switch release), as well as through microtransactions.

PC Gaming is a superior solo experience. Console gaming is superior for when you friends over or simply have kids. You pay $10/month for a service that includes online play and a LOT of games, including many of my favorites. So I spend less on XBox than I did on PC gaming. Playing games on PC through a headset is just not very social. Having people over at your house is far more social.

Why would you do that? Surely there are other ways to demonstrate that you're a nerd that don't involve the annoying process of moving hardware around the house. e.g. owning the correct hardware for the job.

Consoles haven't done that in years. The idea of playing split screen pretty much went out with the Wii and it's never been a thing on the Playstation or XBox.
Doubly so for COD.
The PS and XBox are just consoles trying to be PCs... Failing at it and at the same time, being terrible consoles as well.
The Keyboard/Mouse combo is really that much better than the controller. It's been over a decade where you could connect a console controller to a PC but hardly anyone does because if the KB/Mouse isn't u

That's not how this works. With GamePass you are literally *not* paying for the software, let alone a premium for it. It's a games subscription service, and the economics makes perfect sense if you chose to play more than 2 unique games a year. E.g. Call of Duty MW is 70EUR, Hellblade 2 is 50EUR. Between the two of them you would have covered a year's subscription to Gamepass.
I don't have Gamepass, but now just typing this post I realise I would have been 45EUR better off based on just the past 3 titles I'v

I used to play Call of Duty a lot. To the point of being that guy who stands outside at Game Stop at midnight for the latest version. The alternating years between Treyarch and Infinity Ward seemed to be a good strategy and each dev group added their own little twist to the action. But at some point, I think it was around Advanced Warfare, it got a little silly with all the new gameplay gimmicks (cough...jetpacks). They tried taming it back down, but I lost interest. I've been with the CoD franchise for about 20 years now. These days when I want to play I boot up the Xbox, let it update CoD for a half an hour, and then I go to bed. About a month later when I have another chance to play I do another update. So, it makes sense to me to put this on a GamePass since all I ever do is buy it and don't even play.
