Three 'Grand Theft Auto' Titles Are Coming To Netflix (ign.com) 11

On December 14, 2023, three Grand Theft Auto games will officially become available for Netflix members on the App Store, Google Play, and in the Netflix mobile app. IGN reports: Those who can't wait to jump into Grand Theft Auto III - The Definitive Edition, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - The Definitive Edition, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition can pre-register today to get ready for December 14 and play as soon as they are available. The addition of these three classic Grand Theft Auto games will bring Netflix's gaming library to over 80 titles, and all of these games are available to all Netflix subscribers without any ads, in-app purchases, or extra fees.

  • If I wanted to play GTA, and I could get the "Definitive Edition" for free... I'd pirate the old PC versions and use some fan-made mods instead, because that was a disaster of a remaster.

  • Not gonna lie when I first read the headline, I thought "oh look they're making a GTA series for shit-flix", but nah they are just releasing the defective editions. I was lucky enough to buy the original versions on steam before they got taken down, they work great with just a few community patches. Shame about what the definitive edition could have been...
  • The Android ports of GTA were nigh impossible to play because of the shitty onscreen controls and poor support for bluetooth controllers. I haven't experienced the "definitive" edition on mobile but I doubt it's any better. Also the "definitive" edition is widely known for stripping out songs, and a litany of bugs and nuisance changes. I don't blame Grove Street Games for making such bad ports - I blame Rockstar for caring so little about their backcatalogue titles. It's not the first or last time they've t

  • No different than the old reruns we used to watch on Netflix before they were taken away. Plus, anyone who wants these titles can get them for pennies on Steam. Played GTA San Andreas on my phone and it was fun but there are problems with the controls. This will only benefit the most cost conscious subscribers who didn't 'buy to own' the titles already. And it is literally just a few dollars to get them. These games are 20+ years old. But hey, more stuff not a bad thing.
